Unable to obtain NAND access #647

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open installer
2. Watch it say loading
3. Watch it say Error: Unable to obtain NAND access!!

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It to install, just as the VBA and FCE channels did.

Does this issue occur on SNES9x for Windows 1.52? If so, please report the
issue on the Snes9x forum.

What version are you using? On GameCube or Wii?
Wii.

Are you using the official build (from the downloads page or auto-update)?
auto-update

Please provide any additional information below.
Other channels worked fine when I installed them a while back, now that I saw
this one was out, it's not working. No relevant help in any searches.

BS-It doesn't work as stated, therefore there is an issue with your program.
Figure it out, fix it.

Why are you updating the channels to 1.1? I have Snes9x Channel 1.0 and
emulator version 4.2.7, and the NAND access works fine on my end.

the 1.1 channel installer for the first time and have the same "unable to
obtain NAND access" also. My WII is updated to 4.3e. So not sure what could be
cause appreciate any help. Thanks in advance

SD card? Hard drive? What is this being run off of? I have an 8GB Kingston SDHC
and it works just fine. Format whatever you use to FAT32.

hi Nintendonerd, thanks for reply. Am running off Kingston 1gb SD card, is
formatted to FAT32, other homebrew apps appears to run fine.

Would you suggest trying to put on hard drive as using a 320gb formatted to
NTFS for USB Loader files and backup? Thanks again

Try (re)installing a virgin IOS58, reinstalling HBC, then running the installer
again.

Hi dborth tried installing IOS58 installer downloaded from
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/IOS58_Installer. It didn't work so tried reinstalling
HBC this went fine.

However following this still could not install any of the Channel installers
for SNES9x VBA and FCE getting same error as my earlier post re unable to
access NAND.

New issue Now getting a 'exception dsi occurred' black screen with heap of hex
data, which says reloading but doesn't ending in a system freeze.

Any thoughts please????

You install the channels on the Wii's flash memory, but load the apps off of
the SD card, not the other way around. Do you even have space left?

if the IOS58 install failed, either: you are out of space on the NAND, or you
have a patched IOS58. if that is the case, use AnyTitle Deleter to delete it
before running the IOS58 Installer again.

Yes, stcks of of space. Only using presently 162mb of the 1gd sd. THought the
same as you and copied all sd to 4gb card same issues. To be honest nown not
that worried about the channels. Because everything worked ok just running from
in homebrew before. This new issue of 'exception dsi occurred' is happening
when just running the new installed homebrew with no SD or USB plugged in?

is HBC running on IOS58? if so, removing it will break that unless/until you
reinstall HBC.
