The emulator seems to speed up somewhat randomly with Classic Controller (at least) #653

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Using the Classic Controller (I don't recall this before)
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What happens is loss of controls, the character will still move, but the game
is moving at an extreme speed, and the game won't respond to the Classic
Controller at all. The home button on the Wiimote still works though. Even then
if I hold my mouse over the buttons in the menu, the vibration inside the
Wiimote goes off like crazy. I have to exit the entire emulator (because the
speed thing continues if I pick another game) and restart it, or unplug the
Classic Controller, plug it in again and reload a state.

I'm assuming this is something related to the Classic Controller.

Does this issue occur on SNES9x for Windows 1.52? If so, please report the
issue on the Snes9x forum.

What version are you using? On GameCube or Wii?

Wii.

Are you using the official build (from the downloads page or auto-update)?

Yes. It has been updated through Connect24 as well.

Please provide any additional information below.

no idea what's going on here, perhaps your classic controller is broken or
isn't supported. either way, can't help you.

I doubt that it's broken, I just bought it. Thanks anyway though. It's not that
bad, just an inconvenience if anything.

Strangely, I had this issue yesterday, too, when playing Legend of Zelda - A
Link to the Past using the classic controller. Latest version of SNES9x-GX.

The first game I think of where it happens is in fact A Link to the Past.

I've been having the same issue with my OEM Classic Controller Pro. I've tested
the controller with a regular Wii game and it works fine - only an issue with
the emulator.
