Games won't force video mode when playing disks #98

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What step(s) will reproduce the problem?
1. Load a game disk with Swiss
2. Set the video mode to something besides auto
3. Watch the video mode change in Swiss, but when the game starts it switches
back to its default video mode

What console are you running Swiss on (Wii/GC)?
GameCube

What version of Swiss are you using?
Swiss 0.3 r174

What device was the data being loaded from (SD/HDD/DVD/DVD-R)?
Retail GameCube Disk

Please provide any additional information below.
I like using Swiss to boot my retail GameCube Games due to the options it gives
me, such as memory card emulation and widescreen support of games.

I have a PAL version of Luigi's Mansion, but when I try to force the video mode
to NTSC it stays in PAL. Alternatively, just to see what would happen, I
attempted to force my NTSC version of Super Smash Bros Melee to PAL and it
stayed in NTSC.

I tried ripping Luigi's Mansion to the SD Card as well, but I received the same
results.

If anyone can offer any help on this issue, that'd be great! I have been
struggling to find a software solution to force my PAL games to NTSC with no
luck at all. GCoS didn't work for me either.

Should be fixed in issue 99 once I develop it :)

I see Issue 99 refers specifically to DVD Patching, but I had the same issues
loading off of SD Cards. But none-the-less that's great!
