ProtonTricks icon appears on taskbar, loads for a few seconds and then icon disappears and nothing follows. Process is however active on System Monitor

Steps to reproduce the behavior: Run ProtonTricks from the discover store results in what is described above Run ProtonTricks from applications menu results in what is described above Attempt to run protontricks from Konsole results in what is described above

Expected behavior When launching Protontricks the program should load.

Distro: Steam OS 3.4.8 Protontricks installation method: Discover Store Protontricks version: 1.10.3 Steam version: Preview

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted, repaired the flatpak and nothing happends. I had protontricks running before. It worked without any issues whatsoever.

Ran the code below to give more info flatpak run -vv com.github.Matoking.protontricks --gui https://gist.github.com/Tedi1997/41ec61060f4578e5fc17d41791b219d3

On a possibly other unrelated note there is one other app with the same issue which is Protonup-Qt. Don't know if it might help with anything

This seems like a problem with Flatpak and/or X11.

Have you adjusted the permissions for any of the two applications using Flatseal or the command-line? If so, what modifications have you made?

Is this problem restricted to graphical Flatpak applications only (i.e. those installed from Discover), or do some built-in applications also have the same issue?

In any case, it might be worth reporting this issue to the SteamOS issue tracker.

Just in case I pressed reset on Flatseal and there was a difference only once where it said I needed to add the directory for my SD card but that hasn't appeared since.

I will do that now on the SteamOS issute tracker.

Please on the other hand let me know if there is something I can try which might give you a clearer picture

I am closing this issue since I was able to fix it.

Solution: I deleted the user config files which was a pain because it deleted my non steam games shortcuts and I had to find the old proton prefixes for the saves. However it reached to a point where non steam games wouldnt launch and steam would completely crash. After deleting, steam creates brand new files (you can try deleting just shortcut, vbf) so its fine.

All good with both apps now, so I guess something went wrong since I have multiple active profiles on the deck.

I am having the exact same issue and am lost with the solution, where do I delete the user config files, and what do you mean by shortcut, vbf? Thank you for the solution as I have been stuck with this issue too.
