Manually updating Xray-Core to newer version without updating nekoray client. #1081

i've been having much better exprience with nekoray 3.17 version's gui than newer versions but i want the xray core to be updated to 1.8.6 (latest at the time). i tried downloading the core from xtls github and pasting it in the nekroay dir. but nekoray still uses xray v1.8.3. also tried adding as an extra-core but that cannot be used as default core.

also looked up for similar issues, only found this issue that didn't come to a solution and got closed.

have you managed to upgrade the core?

unfortunately nah, i just came to realize they have stopped this project and there's no way to manually update the cores so i gave up and migrated to "v2rayn" client with is much more customizable and is more frequently updated.

also have recently started using "karing" which is also frequently updated but is based on sing-box core and not customizable in that term although the app itself is pretty good and multiplatform.

i found out about this fork https://github.com/Mahdi-zarei/nekoray/ he upgrades the core frequently and also add some fixes. check it out
