When the title or description fields gain focus, if the event type is a tabletop game, select "gaming" as the track and as one of the topics.
Don't do it when event type is selected, because if they click it by mistake and change to another event type, the track and topic would still be set to "gaming" and they're likely to accidentally leave the "gaming" topic turned on. By the time they get to the "WHAT" section, they're probably done messing with the "WHERE" section, so it's safer to trigger it then.
