An audience sits and watches one or more speakers. Four chairs behind a table. It is faced by rows of chairs.
Hands-on participatory activity. Rectangular tables with chairs facing the front.
Open discussion with no presenter or organizer. Several chairs.
Tabletop game. A table and four chairs.
Concert, skit, movie, or other onstage performance. A stage at the front of the room, faced by rows of chairs.
Activity located throughout the hotel or elsewhere. No furniture needed.
If necessary, change the column widths within the row to fit this. The div under the Title field should have the following text:
The title will sometimes be used without the description, so please be informative. Only be cute if it still tells the reader what to expect.
Tips for writing a description: Don't say "I" or "me". Instead of parentheses, try re-arranging phrases or making a new sentence. Write for those who have never heard of your topic. Will it be introductory? Will it be advanced? Do participants need to bring something? Will participants need to sign up in advance at Ops? Example: "If you've never used an Arduino microcontroller, this panel is for you! We will show you how to set up your first Arduino, from hardware to software, and show you how to create a game system with an Arduino. Please bring your laptop with a USB cable. There is limited seating, so please sign up at Ops."
The hotel person added a new event type: "Workshop with a demonstrator up front. Rectangular tables with chairs facing the front."
Completed and closed.
The form gives an option for 5 players, but the placeholder text said four chairs. A lot of games have 5 players, so I changed the text to read "five chairs".
These were moved out of issue #67:
Based on the selected, add text to the start of the placeholder in the
facilityrequest
field, describing the default furniture arrangement for that event type. After that the placeholder should read "If you need a different arrangement of furniture, fill it in here, along with other room and furniture setup requests." I'll ask hotel@penguicon.org what the default arrangements are, and I'll add them here.Under the Description field should be a div with style guides for how to write a description suitable for the schedule book, such as, Remember not to say "I". I'll contact communications@penguicon.org to get this text, and I'll add it here.
