For AI: maybe have a single image showing the whole chain with boxes around the three subregions shown in the 3 years of density maps

For BS: consider including NBS by zooming out a touch....but then I suppose it will be empty in years without the NBS survey.

Thanks Lewis, this will take some workshopping for the AI. The method I used intended to make the narrow survey area appear twice as fat so the IDW maps were easier to see. I definitely don't love it and if having the whole chain in one panel met needs that would be much cleaner. I have discussed the best way to visualize these with Jane and Megsie, perhaps adding placenames , perhaps using bubble plots rather than idw...
