Try clearing your cookies. The app uses the standard OWIN cookie name, so if you have another app that you test on localhost, the app is probably picking up its cookies.
Keep in mind: this is not meant to be a robust, enterprise-grade app. It is a sandbox to demonstrate different application framework concepts.
