Generating the data for 1 month long simulations takes 1381 minutes, or 23 hours
What information do I need to know the statistics are good?
The % total access times, mean blackout duration, and standard deviations of these should line up. The mean and standard deviation of range should also line up.
This issue should have been done a long time ago, but unfortunately we never did it. As the data sets for constellations have already been set off, there's little point in pursuing this issue until a further paper. For this reason, I am closing this issue.
This issue documents the generation of simulations to define the shortest simulation timescale. Previously simulations have been run over a 2 year period as this is assumed to average out errors in the behaviour of a solar power satellite. This study will determine if shorter timescales can achieve quicker results at the same accuracy.
