Join databases - progress/history lost #86

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. creating a new data-file big_001 on the mobile device
2. using join databases function on first datafile 001 to join into big_001
(when 001 had been studied and zero entries are new or due to review at that
time)
3. using join databases function on second datafile 002 to join into big_001
(when 002 had been studied and zero entries are new or due to review at that
time)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect that after joining, the target datafile big_001 would know about
the history of each datafile-entry merged - entries would need to be reviewed
at a time in the future like saved in the
source-datafiles

instead:
All entries are merged into big_001 but all entries are listed in the NEW-Box
now - so history is lost and I need to start each entry from scratch - I
consider this behavior a crucial bug - or it this is you idea of merging
data-files - make it customizable (when merging add history / or not)

What is the AnyMemo version (E.g 8.999.1, 9.0, 9.1.1)?
I'm using versin 9.0.9

2.3

What is your Android phone model?

Hello,

thank you very much for Anymemo, it's a great app and my skills in learning
foreign languages make great leaps - thank you thank you thank you

But I recently faces the same kind of problem - If I merge two databases, the
added one looses also the category. Do you find a way to fix this?

Thank you in advance

A Workaround is:
Export the two Databases as XML
Use a texteditor and copy all items to other XML file
Save
Import in Anymemo
So you've learning progress and category restored
