Pidgin's windows freeze upon a friend add attempt #20

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Someone else uses the server to add you as a friend (+friend while viewing
your profile, right click buddy > make friend request for those using this
plugin, etc)

What is the expected output?
Standard Pidgin "Send IM/Authorize/Deny" dialog at the bottom of the buddy list

What do you see instead?
All Pidgin windows will stop responding to input, but logs for all IM protocols
will continue to be written to disk. Sounds will continue to play, and even
buddy pounces will continue to go out for those set up.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OS: Microsoft Windows Version 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1) 64-bit

I have also had this issue as well, it's become quite irritating to have
someone try and add you when you have no interest in anything as such, and have
to completely force a program crash just to use the software properly. If
anything either disable any mentioning of friend requests or figure what's
making it freeze, otherwise it's a serious hindrance for this plugin to be
accepted for wider usage.
