Please add a widget which has configurable buttons that can open links in the same tab or on a new tab.

I think you are looking for a personal dashboard, like Homarr or similar projects. I would suggest using that and then integrating dashdot as a widget into it (https://getdashdot.com/docs/integration/widgets).
