What's the future of this project? Is it abandoned?

ildar commented 4 years ago

@TacoTheDank are you still working on it?

Is it worth filing Feature Requests?

TacoTheDank commented 4 years ago

@ildar RIght now, no. I'm currently focusing on VinylMusicPlayer (also I'm not the app developer, haha). You can always create feature requests if you want :)

ildar commented 4 years ago

So i guess Vinyl has more chances to survive?

Oh! I see quite some people are contributing / helping Adrien! Ok, let's see...

cauerego commented 4 years ago

from the commit history i would guess @MaxFour is still working sporadically on this, like before... but it's better wait until they answer it, or more time have passed without any reply.

out of a few handful, this is still the most stable music player i've tried on my 100gb sd card... it's not that easy to find such thing!

MaxFour commented 4 years ago

Hi guys! Now I'm thinking to move this player into Kotlin language. I know that it will be difficult, but I will try to do it!

cauerego commented 4 years ago

why kotlin? never heard of it before...

once i've ported a rather complex "script" from lua into javascript (and called it basiux) and took me a freaking week or over 40 hours...

there must be a very good reason to go through so much work! i'm curious.

@MaxFour Nice, can't wait!

For those still using this app and looking for new features, many have been dealt with in Vinyl Music Player (https://github.com/VinylMusicPlayer/VinylMusicPlayer) an app with a very similar look and feel which is currently under active development.
