Separate ConEmu Inside instance for each tabbed Windows Explorer #2359

Versions

ConEmu build: 210882 x64 OS version: Windows 10 x64 Used shell version: powershell\cmd

Description

In the hope that this won't be considered as a third-party related ask:

When working with tabbed Windows Explorer (for example, using qttabbar), is it possible to have a single ConEmu Inside instance for each tab, instead of sharing the instance between tabs?

For example, the following image demonstrates:

Question

Switching between those Windows Explorer tabs doesn't switch the ConEmu Inside view to the corresponding console, and I guess that's expected behavior.

But can it be configured differently? For example, is it possible to have a single instance of ConEmu Inside for each tab, instead of a single instance shared between those 3 tabs?

ConEmu does not support multiple inside instances "from the box". The default implementation tries to do the best possible to work inside the standard explorer window.

You should ask a third-party vendor (qttabbar?) to create and manage ConEmu instances. But I guess they will not be interested in that.

I have no idea how qttabbar works. But if my guess is right, it just changes the current folder in the one explorer window. If that is true, you should be able to auto change the active folder in the single ConEmu console. That is the max ConEmu could provide.
