Try to answer these questions in R scripts or articles:
[x] What parts of the country are not well covered by GOES-16/17?
Plot GOES 16 and 17 scans with bbox=bbox_CONUS at various DQF levels to determine the coverage of each satellite. Note any states/regions that do not have good coverage.
[x] How much worse is the spacing/distortion at northern latitudes?
Plot a raster of a scan covering the CONUS and color the cells by how many points are in them. Cells further from the equator will have fewer points and therefore be colored lighter.
[ ] Do the AOD videos match up with what we see in the BlueSky viewer?
Choose a BlueSky run animation and generate a scan animation for the same region and time range. Try to determine how well they align--if at all.
[ ] How well does the AOD product work in more humid parts of the country?
Plot GOES scans for regions surrounding cities with high humidity. Are the AOD values always high? Compare with plots from non-humid areas.
