This could be done by saving all relevant parameters (the update rates, curve selection choices, time spans, etc.) into a file within a local temporary folder, in the LabRAD registry or even in the dataChest as the corresponding parameters. If the file/parameters are not found, the default values are applied and the file with the parameters is created.
