I can't get my 100000 test dimensions do delete via /rftdim safedel like I used to in 1.12 and 1.10, what gives?

McJty commented 3 years ago

Deleting dimensions is not yet implemented. It's considerably more complicated in 1.16

Bidgam commented 3 years ago

Is it possible to remove them manually via the server files? That's something I'm trying to do. Thanks

Unrepentant-Atheist commented 3 years ago

Any hacky way to delete them?

McJty commented 3 years ago

There is the /rftoolsdim forget command which makes the mod forget about the dimension. And after that you can manually remove the dimension files

Hello, i used the /rftoolsdim forget command, logged out of my SP-world and deleted the dimension files. After i've logged in again, the dimension files were created again, and the worlds still appeared in the dialing device. I've found a (complicated) workaround by using an external program named NBT Explorer and edit the .dat-files. I will not give a detailed decription here because editing the dat-files is an easy way to destroy your worlds.

I just deleted the mod to reset everything. I haven't tried it again, but I 'assume' that removing the mod will do so, letting me at least start fresh (one could backup the dimensions still perhaps).

I haven't tried this. You removed the mod and the dimension folders and then you started your game? And after that there will be no more entries in the level.dat, RFToolsDimensions.dat and TPDestinations.dat or do you delete/edit this after the restart?

2022, and the "forget" still fails. If you "forget" the dimension it says it's forgotten, but the files are recreated upon reboot.

Can someone PLEASE either document how to ACTUALLY delete dimensions or the mod dev add a working delete feature to the mod??

McJty commented 1 year ago

It's only a small portion of the files that is being recreated so it's not a big deal really. Deleting a dimension is far from easy and dangerous to do. That's why it hasn't been done yet
