That's not really a bug I can fix. It's basically chunks not getting sent to your client properly (that's why you float down so slowly). Either that's a bug from the Minecraft server itself and that source code is way too complicated to just fix something in it or it was some other hiccup in the transfer of packets. If it happens repeatedly at the exact same place only then I can maybe fix it. But as long as it's not something with a step-by-step reproduce tutorial I can't fix it.
In the infinity mode in fast bridger, it seems like if you go beyond a certain distance more than once, the blocks are removed or lagged out or something. A few months ago it was around 100 blocks, looks like its now at 200. Don't know if its been worked on already so figured id report it just in case.
