Nether Biome diversity problems in some seeds? #16

Modpack version: 1.3.9

In my world, whose seed is -8835921349854330227, the Nether dimension seems to only contain the following 10 biomes, even after generating over 400 MB worth of region data:

None of the other vanilla Minecraft biomes appeared anywhere. I even went so far as to install the Nature's Compass mod and turn up its search settings to the maximum, and it was unable to locate a single Warped Forest. This is a problem, because that seems to be the only location in which Kiwano saplings can spawn, and without them, crafting the Gem Chestplate is impossible.

When I generated another world with the seed 4376590691129565123, Nether biome diversity was much higher, with a comparatively small region (only 75MB worth) containing over 24 different biomes, including all of the Vanilla ones.

This likely isn't an issue specifically with the pack itself, but with one of the various other mods which adds new biomes.

you aren't the only one bro, i searched for the warped and crimson forest after various RTP and TP, using spectator mode and... bro, you installed the nature's compass mod for something that vanilla minecraft already has /locatebiome, so,, yes, i tried using locatebiome, but nada, warped and crimson forest were nowhere to be found

this pack has many problems, so i hope in the future will be released a patch

To be fair, Nature's Compass has the advantage of pointing you directly toward the biome you're looking to find (instead of having to compare coordinates) - in my case, I also used it to locate a Mushroom Island biome in the "Overworld" and acquire a Mungus so I could craft the Gem Pants (because the alternative would be to fly aimlessly for hundreds of hours in order to find what literally amounts to a needle in a haystack).

wait, are you really talking about fairness, when it's essentially the exact same thing? or you add a mod that was ORIGINALLY not in the pack to find a biome, or you activate the cheats only to find the biome with /locatebiome it's the exact same thing, if not, then you might as well put a mod that allows you to get creative by crafting an item.. here we are talking about the impossibility of finding a biome, and therefore.. returning to the main theme, I know that to solve I will have to do this, if the modpack author does not solve it himself: I create new worlds (of course with cheat and creatives active) until I find one with the correct nether generation of the correct biomes, after which.. I simply load some chunk, and copy and paste the dimension of the nether into the nether of my world. it seems to me the only solution (or, if you install NBTExplorer, you can edit you own world seed, editing the level.dat file), PROVIDING that what you said, namely the fact that some seeds have the right biomes is true.

chunks that will be newly generated when you put the nether world on your original nether world might be weird or buggy, but it seems like the only 'legit' way to get the biomes you need

Ok, after 2 more test, i found out the true problem 2022-04-04_13 45 51 image The problem is this: Entering the world for the first time, the generation of vanilla biomes is correct, but exiting and re-entering the world, the generation is 'overwritten' by some mod I presume, and the worlds no longer generate some specific biomes, from the photo you can see how the biome it was 'cut' in the middle of the generation (when I left the world, while still part of the biome was generating, I was exactly in the point indicated by the arrow, I had just created the green waypoint), after I simply re-entered the world (without having made any particular changes, I just went out and back) you can see that, locatebiome cannot find any biomes anymore of that type. Another example with the crimson forest 2022-04-04_13 57 21 image

after some more research, I went to the BetterNether-Reforged github, apparently it's a problem with this mod

Also, the reason I didn't think to use /locatebiome is because it was only added in 1.16 vanilla, so I never had a reason to use it before, while Nature's Compass has been around since 1.10.2 and I've used it in multiple other packs.
