Was about to mark this as out-of-scope and close it, thinking it's a not-so-small feature. But, I think all the necessary components already exist and could be reasonably wired together. Given that all the pieces are already available, I believe this is reasonably within scope even though it's definitely on the larger side,
The only question is can the Testing grounds be moved into the mechlab basically. I am not a programmer but just an idea using existing assets.
I would widen it to new mechs. It would be great to try how a new mech handles in testing grounds before purchasing it. Bonus points it you can also change its loadout.
Proposal: Let players drop into Testing Grounds with a second button next to Save/Purchase. Let's players tinker a bit more before committing what might be millions of CBills on a build.
