PSX Backups Not Working [SCPH-77004] #125

Closed MilGreat2010 closed 2 years ago

MilGreat2010 commented 2 years ago

So, i DEXed my SCPH-77004 (PAL), to try burnt PSX backups, and it works! But plot twist, the PS screen appears, then it goes to another screen, and then its black... tried it with parappa and with spyro (1st), both burnt at 8x speed, both are PAL, if anyone can help me solve this issue, please help!

PS: My TV supports 240p over AV as wii NES virtual console games work.

Did you used mechapwn 3.0? If so, try to boot the game with ps1VmodeNeg

MilGreat2010 commented 2 years ago

Okay, I will

Still a black screen

MilGreat2010 commented 2 years ago

Also I use FreeMCBoot

Well PaRappa gives the ps screen first, then "piracy hurts devs bla bla bla (it shows this on emulators too, works just fine), then a blue screen for a few secs and then "sony entertainement europe presents" and then it crashes (Spyro 1 also says the sony europe thing before being black)

Looks like you have a modchip

I dont think so, I couldnt slip in a burnt DVD or CD without mechapwn, I even opened it up once before!

Then it is definetly non-supported resolution. Ps1 boot animation is running in 480i, while the majority of ps1 games are running in 240p. For testing this you can check any game from this list, if they outputs something, this definetly something with your tv or with your cable. Ps2hdmi, for example, mostly doesnt support 240p. You can also try to test it by forcing 480i from gsm app, but this problem is not related to the mechapwn, so issue will be closed later.

All of my games work with POPS just fine, just not with a burnt CD, I already said my TV supports 240p

AKuHAK commented 2 years ago

POPS is an emulator, it uses different video modes, and by the way has special fixes for hdtv. Until you provide the proof that original ps1 game disks worked before mechapwn installation and stopped to work after mechapwn installation, this issue isnt related to mechapwn.
