Did you force unlocked the PS2 with MechaPwn ?

If you force unlock, you can only play ps2 games (originals and backups) and ps1 originals. You must just run/install the exploit without doing the force unlock in order to play ps1 backups but you will lose ps2 backups.

thank you for your reply but no i did not use a instation that has force unlock i now use PSXLAUNCHER to launch my ps1 backup while this is less convient and only works on pal games i did not notise any change after i installed the MechaPwn exploit maybe i should try again some time and try to also change the region

psxlauncher requires a way to block the sensor of the ps2 drive or use the sliding tool with a ps2 flip-top cover

psxlauncher is obsolete, use DKWDRV as more sophisticated tool

i don't use that tool/application (psxlauncher), i was just informing the person of the previous comment about it :)

Sorry to go off topic but i don't find the documentation or videos to be very clear does this use the disc drive or the slow usb port

This is definitely offtopic, its better to ask such things at their github. But as we are discussing mechapwn, and mechapwn works only with disk tray, it can be assumed that software that was adviced also works with disk tray.

Use Tonyhax boot disc to play PS1 games

Use Tonyhax boot disc to play PS1 games

yeah naw it does not work like that for a LOT of users man tony hax works ≤ SCPH-39000 (not on JP models) only so like what 2% of the consoles? (made that up but you get the point ≤ SCPH-39000 are ONLY fat models made before 2002 that means the other 11 years of consoles manufactured can not exploit this)
