First, you don't need to change it to the USA, you can keep the Russian region without loose of any features. Second, you can select any patch option. And yes, the default one (the first) is the safest, but others are safe as well.

Third, please provide an NVRAM backup, a file called nvm_6.10_xxxxxxxx.bin . This file should be on your USB in the root folder.

And lastly, can you please explain in detail what is with your dead console? How does it act? Just keep red lights and don't react to the power button?

Are you sure you used 3.0? It has no option called "save current backup". Also, you said that it broke year ago,, but 3.0 appeared only this year.

Maybe your tv just doesnt support ntsc signal, thus resulting in black screen?

I dont need original nvram, you can provide any nvram. Mechapwn should create one even if you didnt finish the process, so, please, check your usb.

Why? As I said all other regions has the same features. Only mechapwn 2.0 has the limitation that ntsc region can play all region backups, 3.0 has no limitation for any region.

In this screen scroll down you will see file named nvm_6.10_xxxxxxx.bin . Please provide that file. This file will NOT be inside any folder, it should be on your flash drive on the root.

Sorry, still didnt check the file. Force Unlock will block ps1 and dvd titles for you, but allows to boot non-masterpatched ps2 titles directly from osd.
