Explorer Tooltip randomly stopped appearing #809

Accidentally posted the following message in the wrong Github, according to the MediaInfo website (apologies about that):

As the title suggests, the Explorer tooltip just stopped working for me today out of seemingly nowhere. Now I can't get it back.

Unchecking and then re-checking all the explorer integrations in the preferences menu didn't work. Completely closing and reopening the program didn't work. Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the software didn't work. Rebooting my computer didn't work. It just does not work anymore and I have no idea why (I know there was an update to the program a few days ago, but the tooltip was still working after the update).

This is extremely frustrating because I manage a lot of media files (due to running a media server) and the tooltip is a very convenient feature that greatly speeds up what would otherwise be a very repetitive and tedious process.

Any update to this? Tooltips stopped working on my Windows 10 machine too.

I don't usually use the tooltip but I enabled it to test after seeing this GitHub issue. It works on Windows 11 24H2. So I do not know why yours is not working since cannot reproduce. I suggest that you check the registry entries and/or monitor if MediaInfo_ToolTip.dll is loaded by File Explorer when you hover to find clues of the potential cause of the issue.
