Just realized this isn't just against aerospace, I've just had it happen with a battle armor unit in a different game (but same settings): ` Weapons fire for Achileus Light Battle Armor (WoB) [TAG] Mk II (Brilliant Light III-Beta) Auto-Rifle (Modern, Generic) at Hornet HNT-171 (Federated Suns (Reinforcements)); needs 5, rolls 7 : 6 troopers hit, causing 3 damage. After playing with a few settings, this is the result of setting the "No Double Blind Messages" option under Advanced Rules. Its being a little too aggressive, stripping out the firing unit declaration entirely. When this option is off the text is masked with "???".
Using 47.14, I'm getting "mystery damage" against my own fighters on the mapsheet. For example, I'm player "Brilliant Light III-Beta", shooting at a Boing Jump bomber. My Ahab fighter is being shown taking damage halfway through:
I can sort-of deduce by knowing what the enemy forces are fielding that this is in fact incoming enemy fire, but it's not being show properly (attacker, target number, roll result, etc.). This may be a side effect of double-blind/sensor rules, as the attacker in this case was out of contact at the time.
