That's because the area is not affected by ECM when in ghost target mode.
An incredible leap of deduction Holmes.
ECM, ECCM, & Ghost Targets are all considered a form of ECM emission by TacOps. So they should all show the overlay so the player can see the area of effect.
The overlay is just for standard ecm. And don't smart ass me.
ECM and ECCM both have the overlay, with Ghost Targets affecting the same area and doing ECM type work I would think it would also have the overlay.
Not with the errata to Ghost Targets.
Will you be adding the ghost targets rules the way AMS is handled? With an option to use the old rules or the new rules? I was unfamiliar with the change when I posted this originally, but I've read them since then. The errata is really, really bad. Ghost targets effecting 1 enemy is not even close to a fair trade for nerfing a six hex radius of streak missiles, artemis, etc... I think you should leave it as an option to use either rule set.
If the option to use either ruleset is added, the old rules should get an overlay showing their area of effect.
Leaving the old rules as an option was the plan. Once the new ghost target rules are added into MM I hope that is still the case.
Would be nice to have some color of overlay I think(green). Also the tooltip for mechs with ghost targets on(opponent) does not tell you that they have ghost targets turned on. (I dont know if your opponent should be privy to that info anyways, though they will see it and which mechs has it in the round reports so why not?).
Without the limited information rules from TO (which MM doesn't have implemented, and likely won't for a while), it's basically all or nothing knowledge. Without double-blind, players know everything. With double-blind, players know everything once the unit is spotted.
Also pretty straightforward. Setting ECM to ghost targets mode turns off the colored overlay that normally shows the area effected by the ECM.
Reposted to correct area. Not sure how to move a thread.
