Prerequisites and Pre-Issue Checklist

RFE Details *

This is a new feature

Brief Description *

Books seem to suggest that all infantrypeople, trained or untrained, recieve the Anti-Mech skill of at least 8. Currently Anti-Mech skill is only displayed on some infantrypeople. Discussion was had in QA and I believe a consensus was that all persons with a combat infantry role should receive at least 8 AM skill, and it should be displayed on their person card. And presumably when a new one is rolled they should roll for this skill too.

Screens of person with and without, and rulebook cite below.

Final Checklist

Was also suggested that a special case for existing personnel be made and give them the skill, but in a manner that does not tank their current skill rating.

The one problem with this at least presently is that if an infantry squad/platoon has an anti-mek skill they get the anti-mek weight. EX A platoon without the skill weighs 2.5 tons. A platoon with the skill weighs 3 tons.

So if this was implemented then MekHQ would have to be able to figure out how to differentiate [which it already has a hard time doing as it is]

As discussed on Discord with @IllianiCBT it would also be useful for Tech(any) and Astech personnel to generate with a Small Arms and Anti-Mek skill appropriate for their skill level.

Medical personnel (Doctor, Medic) should generate only with a Small Arms skill appropriate for their main skill level.

This will support the rules in CamOps for if technical or medical teams are forced into combat.

They should generate with Small Arms and Anti-Mek skills following this table:

The table can be found on page 190 (192) of the CamOps 4th printing PDF.

Doing so will support users in fleshing out TO&Es with their full support assets, and allow for play where player logistics forces or bases are attacked and the support teams must defend themselves.
