when connecting to a eaglercraft server on 0.0.0.0:8081 and localhost:8081 i get error Connection lost #2

A little more information would be nice. But I did find out that it works better when the eagler client is being served from the file url type not hosted on a webserver.

Also if you are using localhost, you need to have the server running on the same machine that you are trying to join from.
