[🐞]: Clients crash when rendering globes #1008

Closed the-P1neapple closed 3 months ago

the-P1neapple commented 3 months ago

Before Continuing:

Version

1.19.2-FABRIC

Supplementaries Version

1.19.2-2.4.20

Moonlight Lib Version

1.19.2-2.3.5

Issue Detail

Whenever a globe or sepia globe is rendered or placed in a world, it crashes the client. Just before the game crashes, I only see a highlight for where the block is placed but no model appears. I have tested on a separate profile with only Fabric API, Moonlight and Supplementaries and the issue persists.

crash-2024-04-01_13.24.34-client.txt

Also if there is a way to disable globes for my server while this gets fixed in the meantime, let me know.

Thanks.

it does happen on 1.20.1 with supplementaries-1.20-2.7.31-fabric, cannot update much cause its in a modpack and cause mayhem for now.. but yeah, was it fixed on future version for that minecraft version ?

hey so i just ran into the same issue. was able to make it work by setting the date manually to another day aside from April first thru windows settings. im on a single player world not sure if itll work with a server, might work if the pc the server is hosted on has its date rolled back. you can read the crash log to find the globes and break them, i believe i got all of mine during the roll back but after turning on "auto date and time" back on it still crashes my game on load in. if that is only happening because i missed a globe there is a chance you can drag and drop the world folder from the server into the location the single player saves are saved, break the globes in single player and then copy the globeless save from single player back to the server to work around this. that is assume i there is a globe i missed that is causing me to still crash however. maybe rolling back the date just works on a server too not sure. hope this helps.

can confirm that all globes listed in my crash report were broken which means no playing without rollback. havent tried rolling the date forward however but doubt that will solve anything.

base on OPs log their globe is at (5,-60,3) if they cant find it or would like to trouble shoot by messing with rolling forward in time and breaking the globe

It's an April Fools joke, you can change your system date to get rid of it and play without problems.
