Improve notices readability #41

The new look and feel is certainly looking better than what we had. However, things seem to be a bit crammed now. Below is a before and after screenshot. Notice how the fonts are now smaller, and the "x" in the top notice is covering some of the text.

1) Can we make it a bit wider, so the layout looks a bit neater?

2) There also seems to be a "formatting issue" in both the old and new versions - the admin notices are not aligned. Any reason? Is this something we can address?
