To prevent issues of loss of games due to current Admins deciding to cease running things, being able to do export/import of entire "games" worth of data would be good.

Will need a method to export all characters and all game information (charms/customs/etc) and be able to import the information onto a new server.

What should be ex-/importable?

Characters
Custom charms
Setting
Storylines (I'd like to keep most of the bureaucracy on the site, so that even if we don't track "future" SLs, we do track "approved"(if that's a concept), and certainly ran scenes)
Bluebooks/diaries for characters

Other things, if so what?

Characters definitely. Customs you'd probably want to have optional/separate, just in case the transfer doesn't want to deal with some of the customs that managed to get approved.

Well, SLs/etc need to be in some part of the database, and I think I'll prefer the idea of being able to export it =) (since that can also act as a backup plan). You're right about the customs, there's been customs we didn't want to deal with a year after they were put through... =)
