It should work, if the system that you are working on has access to docker hub.
A sample output looks like below.
./build Building image: rdma/sriov-plugin:x86_64 Sending build context to Docker daemon 213.5kB Step 1/13 : FROM golang:1.10.1 as build 1.10.1: Pulling from library/golang
I am not sure if it is go version so I replaced my go1.11.3 with 1.10.1 but it fails still. it seems fine with my docker cos I have pulled a few images successfully.
Anyone got the same problem as well?

@Whishay
Can you make sure that docker images output look like this in your system. docker images | grep golang golang 1.10.1 1af690c44028 11 months ago 780MB
Thanks. Still, it does not work after I downgraded the image to 1.10.1.

Hi, I got an issue with build on both centos 7.6 and fedora 27, any problem with my set up?
./build make Building image: rdma/sriov-plugin:x86_64 Sending build context to Docker daemon 215 kB Step 1/13 : FROM golang:1.10.1 as build Error parsing reference: "golang:1.10.1 as build" is not a valid repository/tag: invalid reference format
