[Bug]: Melvor not closing properly on Windows 10 #4073

Describe the bug

Sometimes, Melvor refuses to close properly. I can't reproduce this all the time, but it happens often enough since the last update. The game window closes, but the process stays open in the background. I have to kill the process with the task manager.

I am also having a similar issue on windows 11. However, when I close the game steam says its still running, yet checking processes in task manager shows no game process running.

Im running the latest steam version, no mods, both DLC.

This still occurs on the latest 8448 build. For me it started occasionally happening (maybe 30% of the time) after the first offline client preparation build.

The only way I've found to close the game is either via task manager or Steam library, clicking the game and then "stop", but it's a bit tedious to check every time if the game has closed or not

Edit: Also using W11 and the Steam build with both DLCs owned.

Semi reliable way to reproduce (these steps probably aren't necessary, but just listing them because that's what I do) is to:

  1. equip farming gear via the quick menu, collect, use gloop, plant anything on every slot possible.

  2. re-equip the bottom most 5 Firemaking items, wait maybe a few seconds and close the game via the title bar X.

  3. Repeat a few times if necessary and eventually the game should not close properly, even though the window is gone

Still happening here on 8448 too.

Clicking "stop" on steam works sometimes, sometimes not even steam can close it. Task manager works 100% of the time, though.

Confirming that this is still happening on the newest build 8596. It would be nice to know if there are any news from the dev
