@ace20022 sorry it seems that github is broken a bit - i didn't even get a mail that you opened a PR. So in which state is this? Should i merge it? - atm i am side-tracked by the rebrand of binary/packages of darwin which is a more major undertaking that i thought. So i won't come back to gif for a while i think...

@Memphiz sometimes github is... Link to the archive is there: https://github.com/Memphiz/xbmc/pull/13#issue-40107304 I want to add the error check first, and it might be good if @jmarshallnz could have a look at it before you merge it.
