Configurable middle click #47

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

I'd like to open folders with a single middle click (instead of double
middle click opening a terminal in the folder). This is related to my issue
46 (Pop-up (Vista style) menu) - in this new system, I'd like left click to
open folders in the applet's single pop-up menu, then middle click to open
folders in my file manager. This could also maybe help out issue 7?

Whoa, that's a lot of changes at once! First of all, If the Vista-style menus
were to
be implemented, I think it would be best to enable that trough a config
setting; you
would enable either the normal menu or the vista one. Not both at the same time.

It also sounds like you want a complete remap of the mouse button bindings,
though I
still don't quite understand what you're after.

Elaborate please.

Agree 100%

Currently, you can double click on a folder (well, if issue 7 gets resolved),
or open
its submenu, then click on its directory header to open it up in a file manager.

Under my proposed menu behavior (it turns out Vista actually works differently),
double clicking wouldn't work, because you'd just be performing the action 'open
submenu' twice. Instead, middle-click could be mapped to 'open in file
manager'.

All I'm after is a reduction in the number of clicks needed to perform an
action.

Oh, and ignore my first comment, middle-clicking on applets should be reserved
for
movement.

Ok, I think I understand. The behaviour you describe is all related to the
"Vista-Style" menu. I'll merge this issue with that one.

Low priority though. i18n and context menu actions are priorities right now.
