My LibreOffice extension could not connect to the Mendeley API. After investigating, it appeared that I had modified the HTTP server port to 50001 following these instructions:
http://support.mendeley.com/customer/portal/articles/1780692-how-to-solve-the-address-was-protected-message
This resulted in the extension failing to contact Mendeley, issuing the message:
Please run Mendeley Desktop before using the plugin.
Being able to set the connection port without having to rebuild the extension would be nice.
