Steps to patch a package with the previous Bootstrap 3 theme manually if needed:
- Remove
inst/pkgdown/completely - Replace
pkgdown/extra.csswith the new version - In
_pkgdown.yml- Add the
urlsection and replace with your site base URL (for search to work properly) - Replace the old
templatesection with the new version - Add the new
footersection - Remove the
typefield from thenavbarsection if any
- Add the
We should update the customized template/mechanism to accommodate pkgdown 2.0.0 which uses Bootstrap 5.
