[REQ] Key Ring Baubles Support #7

Open ExcitedName opened 5 years ago

ExcitedName commented 5 years ago

Either just basic compatibility to save space or go a little further and not have to have the key ring in hand to use it.

MercurialPony commented 5 years ago

I dunno, how do you imagine this? I mean which slot would the ring logically fit into? None as I see it. I think it’s pretty absolutely unnecessary. Can’t you just use your offhand?

ExcitedName commented 5 years ago

How about purely for the convenience of saving the ever so dwindling inventory space in modded minecraft. Or say I am running away from a mob towards my base with my shield in my off-hand and want to open an iron door, switching to my key ring is less convenient then hitting the button next to the door with my sword. Or you could always play on words, key RING, and have it fit into the Baubles ring slot. With mods like Bring Me the Rings! one could carry a whole slew of key rings. To be honest I was looking up an entirely different mod when I noticed you updated this. I like your mods and thought we had a good conversation on CurseForge back in Jan. So when I saw the update with the added key ring, I thought to myself, lets use this instead of player plates. Why? Because I want to support this person that inspired me with Runic Inscription. Between that mod and some things I saw on the Wynncraft server I was inspired to start learning vanilla commands and create a function project that I have been working on since the release of 1.12. I just wanted to support YOU as a mod author by finding a way to fit this in. But in all reality you are right, it is unnecessary. The mod doesn't actually logically fit in very well with any of my modpacks, I can just use player plates instead. It is only a single player world anyway.

Dude chill lol. After thinking a little I think it could work as a belt item potentially.

ExcitedName commented 5 years ago

If you want people to be chill with you, I would advise that you give them the same courtesy. Rejecting my idea is one thing. Completely slamming my idea was what was unnecessary. I wrote what I did, how I did, to illustrate a point. What it feels like to be on the other end of what you dished out to me. I am a former US Marine and do not, for even a second, tolerate that kind of treatment towards me and will respond accordingly. Ultimately, I harbor no hard feelings and hope we can both move past this like the adults that we are. In regards to your response as a belt item, that would be appreciated. I'm sure players would also appreciate a config option to not only disable it as a bauble item, but also choose what bauble slot it can go in.

Thanks for your time.

99.9% of the mods I see that have rings / belts and have curios/baubles compatibility just make their own slot to be handled by curios/baubles. Please don't reject as most ideas/issues on this github page have been

Jeez I said I might add it, that's why this issue still isn't closed. What are you talking about? I barely reject any requests at all.
