U+FDFC misrender #375

Closed MAZ06 closed 1 month ago

The rial sign (U+FDFC) misrenders in Unicodia. But I think it may also be an issue with the font. I may have to report it to Noto Arabic as well.

So apparently the Unicode chart displays U+FDFC as separate letters. The stylized version is not in there. It's up to you if you want to include it in Unicodia or not.

I use Scheherazade here. Close as not planned?

MAZ06 commented 1 month ago

Noto would produce the same result actually unless you literally copy and paste the actual symbol.

Also, I'm still confused why Unicodia is using Scheherazade instead of Noto...

Mercury13 commented 1 month ago

Because Scheherazade adopts new characters more quickly, and is just more complex Naskh.

MAZ06 commented 1 month ago

Why not use Noto for everything so everything is the same style? And then only use other fonts when you absolutely need to? For example, when new characters come out.

Mercury13 commented 1 month ago

Arabic and European cannot be the same style.

MAZ06 commented 1 month ago

Maybe I used the wrong words. I guess I meant to say the same font family.
