MLT & Frei0r #49

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.just installed, openshot was installed and frei0r MLT with much trouble a
while ago (melt & frei0r-plugins???)
2.ppa instructions arent clear, dont know how to translate ppa: etc from the
launchpad net address NOR choose from the many bewildering BEWARE! versions; is
MLT and melt the same etc? And should be here as openshot works, correct?
3.all videos on my system (tons) mp4, flv, ogg, dont show up properly when
added as media. only one lone odd webm shows as video, all the rest claim they
are audio wrongly.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expect to get on learning this new program as openshot soux; stuck on why cant
get hard worked videos in here to continue working.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
the latest one from today; 13.04 ubuntu/mint

Please provide any additional information below.
idiot savant technically, need spelled out for terminal maneuvers :)
Promising tho, would like to graduate from openshot hayll.

remember spending 1/2 a day searching when openshot needed "MLT and Frei0r",
and that it ended up as above (melt and frei0r-plugins almost sure) ....since
it is requisite for openshot (newest version from the ppa) I'd suppose it must
reside on my system, but typing it as found on flowblade page "apt-get mlt
frei0r" returns "mlt not found, frei0r unavailable but ""-plugins is available."

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sunab/kdenlive-release
update
(sudo apt-get install mlt frei0r)
when changed it to melt and frei0r-plugins, worked, but saw during install
needed python-numpy, so added it when it finished up.
ffmpeg was also a project getting on here the right way for openshot, so I dont
get what the diff is to not spot any videos that do exist on system.

meaning, ffmpeg i recall had to go in a certain order after removing and
reinstalling several other codecs in specific way; and from a special ppa.

Comments on this issue:

1. Download and install file 'flowblade_0.10.0-1_all.deb' available from
'Downloads' tab on top of the page or
http://code.google.com/p/flowblade/downloads/list

2. Installing from Ubuntu PPA:s and manual dependency installation is not
something I can comment/help on much since I'm not managing those.

I'm marking this 'Invalid' as there is no clearly defined Issue I can fix.
