SLiM is a genetically explicit forward simulation software package for population genetics and evolutionary biology. It is highly flexible, with a built-in scripting language, and has a cross-platform graphical modeling environment called SLiMgui.
For the time being, some things related to parallel SLiM are being removed/disabled in the master branch, since that feature is unreleased, incompletely tested, and unsupported. This branch contains changes that back out that removal/disabling. It will be merged in when parallel SLiM is ready for release.
