@reidsunderland figured out what the problem was... which is great... but we never actually looped around
to address it... Opening an issue here so that it is at least on the radar to get addressed eventually.
in onfly_checksum we are calculating the "name" checksum based on the inflight (aka temporary) name... not the final one,
which is causing spurious error messages.
