Blockchain News (EST 2015) #4129

This is the second time I have requested to be removed from your phishing list.

If there is a problem, tell me what to do. Don't just ignore me and keep me on a blacklist.

I have been writing articles on Blockchain since 2015 and I don't deserve this.

If there's an article that you think is phishing then tell me what to do.

Don't just ignore me

Richard Kastelein www.the-blockchain.com A blockchain industry innovation catalyst, I am a well-connected explorer, business developer, connector & expert in the global blockchain industry. From sailing to server management, marketing to media, politics to publishing, & technology to travel... my career has been diverse & unique, travelling and working in over 40 countries has given me a global perspective.

On the cutting edge of media innovation, I've been a publisher, writer, analyst, consultant, event organiser, business developer, company director & judge for the EU Horizon 2020 & Innovate UK programmes.

As publisher of Blockchain News (2015), I have covered it from the inside & used that knowledge, network & market intelligence to provide 50+ blockchain companies with advisory services & speak at 50+ events around the globe. Writing over 2500 articles since 2015 at BCN has given me a bird's eye view of the industry & significant social media following on Twitter, Facebook & Linkedin.

I have spoken on innovation at over 100 events in 50+ cities.

With Christian Seberino (PhD) at Blockchain Partners, I continue to teach 100s of Oracle staff members blockchain courses (remote Webex).

My work has been published in Wired, Harvard Business Review, Venturebeat & The Guardian have taken me from the Native Canadian Press (Arctic) to the Caribbean & Europe as well as translations into French, German, Dutch, Greek & Polish along with being cited over 50x @ Google Scholar.

In 2018, I was awarded an honorary PhD in Blockchain at China's Jiangxi Institute Software & Technology & attended Oxford University Said's Automation 4.0.

In my early 20's, I left Canada & ended up circumnavigating the planet on sailboats, inspiring me to write a series of articles called,' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Seas'.

My career as a writer began. I was shaped by that experience.

I skippered & delivered yachts for Sunsail as a marketing director for multinational ch&leries Budget Marine & Island Waterworld. The Caribbean was my home for almost a decade living the sailboat cruising lifestyle.

Moving to Europe in 2002, I transitioned into progressive political publishing (Free Press Group) followed by TV & film innovation (TV App Market & TV Hackfest). This sparked the Hackitarian Foundation in Amsterdam where Jurjen Sohne & I organised innovation events (hackathons) across the world - with a focus on emerging technologies. I founded the first token sale event in Europe, CryptoFinancing in 2016.

I live in a charming 13th-century village in Holland where I dropped my anchor to raise a family & continue my career.

Hi, the domain was added to the blacklist because of an article pointing users to a malicious Stellar site that phished for secrets. Your domain was added in commit https://github.com/MetaMask/eth-phishing-detect/commit/bc54baa32d0d6592dab693fa0903c70609462cad

Please STOP killing my business.

expathos commented 4 years ago

Well I hope you sort it out because what you have done is disgusting. Ruining a publisher's business because of some fucked up url that looked the same. You could have talked to me. Nlo, but instead you fucked up my career, my life, and my business for no reason. I did nothing wrong. Yes there was a shitty PR sent to me, with an obscufated url. Man, I write dozens of stories a week. I try to be careful. I did not make any money from this stupid PR. I just needed filler and it seemed legit.

expathos commented 4 years ago

I am going to start telling my contacts that metamask is not secure. You know... guys like Brock Pierce.... billionaire. Michael Terpin. Billionaire. So you better sort this.

I would prefer everyone see what is happening. This is an open source community is it not? Or is is some kind of dictatorship where you choose who wins or loses?

expathos commented 4 years ago

I removed that article LONG AGO. If my name is not cleared by tomorrow, I am going on the warpath with Metamask. And my distribution network for Blockchain News is huge.

I would prefer everyone see what is happening. This is an open source community is it not? Or is is some kind of dictatorship where you choose who wins or loses?

I have already asked if you would contain all your comments in 1 comment box instead of multiple comments - this is what I meant by that. I am very happy to discuss with you to get to the bottom of this situation.

I am going to start telling my contacts that metamask is not secure. You know... guys like Brock Pierce.... billionaire. Michael Terpin. Billionaire. So you better sort this.

That would be misinformation, especially since the operation blocked people from clicking a malicious domain (xn--stelar-6db.org).

I am going through the information now, and an allowlist will most likely be issued in a couple of minutes once I have gone through everything. I ask you, again, please keep all your comments in 1 comment box (you can edit the comment if you need to add to it), but please refrain from sending multiple comments in a short time period.

You guys have already wrecked my fine reputation. I dealt with this months ago. And still. I got a client today that won't do business with me because you guys can't get your shit together.

expathos commented 4 years ago

The only misinformation going around is the lies you spread about me. And I am not sure I trust your platform based on that. And it's in my right to tell others. Get my site off your fucking bullshit list or I will attack.

Please do not threat. It is not good character. I have already told you I am looking into the situation and will most likely remove the domain as you have explained what went on.

expathos commented 4 years ago

Fix it. I don't deserve this. You just lost me a huge contract, even though I dealt with this months ago and removed the stupid article that was a press release with a fucked up url I could not tell the difference.

expathos commented 4 years ago

Can you understand I am furious? I thought I dealt with this. I REMOVED what you asked months ago. And somehow, your organisation is so fucked up that you left me in the dust even though I did nothing wrong.

409H commented 4 years ago

Yes, I can understand your frustration, however both your older issues I never acknowledged - you could have bumped any of those at any time.

Do I have to beg or bump? Is that how you do business? So six months ago, I did everything you ask. You left me on the shit list. I lost a huge contract. Well that sucks. Why? I am a mere publisher who has been around since 2015. I teach blockchain to Oracle staffers. I am part of this community. You ignored me.

expathos commented 4 years ago

It's not my job to chase you over and over and over again for something I did nothing wrong.

expathos commented 4 years ago

Please just fix it. I am tired of defending my right as a publisher with integrity who has been fucked over by Metamask.

expathos commented 4 years ago

You guys really fucked me. Treating me like a liar. I started my journalism career in 1989, I am old school. I beleve in truths. www.linkedin.com/in/expathos - google me. I am not a PHISHING, fucking ripoff site as you have labelled me.

expathos commented 4 years ago

have your cleared my good name?

expathos commented 4 years ago

if so thank you. I have lost a lot of business over this, and I think unfairly. You need to develop a better system in terms of how you label websites as theives. Work with the sites. It's pretty clear if the domain is registered last week it's an issue. Or how about asking the website owners.... or are you too busy? Well if you are too busy to take the time to see if the business you are going to blackball is legit or not, then you don't deserve the right to make these decisions over businesses.

expathos commented 4 years ago

All I can say right now, is that Metamask has left a terrible taste in my mouth. And I will never be an evangelist for a product that has totally ruined a business deal. For no reason. I am not in the game of bad-mouthing businesses, but if people ask me, I cannot lie.
