I'm writing down anything i can think of that would be useful in games I know we'll end up making.
Take with a grain of salt and realize this is mostly coming from a non-techy, non-skilled user point of view (as best as I can emulate). I think this module should show well which should increase interest and adoption. Even if some of these items do work do they work in a way that is intuitive to a first time user—this should be kept in mind.
Additionally, I think if we feel a feature will be used in multiple card games it should be rooted in core with extensibility options.
Think you should be able to drag a card onto a discard pile that is on the canvas. it should highlight so you know you are about to drop it in the discard and then it gets discarded
discard piles need an option to fan out like in rummy (showing the left or right edge of every card), or show last card's face. or show card back (or maybe even show first card face)
Players should be able to "dock" their hand to their hot bar, preferably just above unless there is a more suitable choice. It may or may not be able to hide/minimize/shrink on mouseleave and show on hover. having a few small buttons to reorder based on suit/number/color/whatever would be cool too.
At least one default playmat (maybe in a compendium) would be nice so people can see what they can do
need a better default player hand sheet I think. although foundry's is technically functional i dont think its useable at all during game play so would be nice to have one that was.
Ability/indicator to show how many other plays and how many cards they have in their hand (if configured as such). a more robust version of the bottom-left player list might make this nicer. the extended version can show card count and turn indicators, and other stuff. this extended version would be an option.
as a player i think everything should be doable with one hand on the mouse totally casually without needing to really look around, everything within the canvas bounds or just around the perimeter.
Turn Log: Assuming this works into combat tracker (which could have an option to rename to turn tracker). User has played one. Drawn One. etc.
if dragging pile onto scene ask to auto create region that encompasses it including a label that can show visibly
regions should be able to show total card count within it.
how do we see other player's regions in a perspective that makes sense so it feels like a card game? like rummy, magic, munchkin, etc
prevent dragging a card to canvas if its already out, instead of moving it to the new place. or at least an option to prevent this.
