Complex markdown formatting in comments doesn't behave as expected #852

No matter what I do I can't get the formatting of this comment right: https://www.metaculus.com/questions/28329/gaza-war-end-and-two-state-solution/#comment-195490

It's a bit too complex for the WSYWIG editor, so I was trying to do it in markdown, but it doesn't seem like it respects the markdown formatting I enter. The fine print should look like this, and this is what I enter in markdown format:

  • The end of the Gaza war is defined as a cessation of hostilities lasting a minimum of 60 consecutive days. This may be achieved through various means, including but not limited to: a peace treaty, a bilateral ceasefire, or the substantial degradation of Hamas's military capabilities resulting in a de facto end to the conflict.

  • If the state of Palestine is dissolved, this question will resolve as No even if a successor state takes its place.

  • West Bank and Gaza are defined based on the 1949 Armistice Agreement.

Sorry, just edited your comment and I could set the formatting to the above without problem. Maybe show me live when you're on later today?
