Text codification

I'm trying to send a text in spanish with some accent marks but I can't figure out how to do so.

So far I've tried:

• Set encoding: 'utf8' on sent object
• Use HTML entities
• User UTF8 encoding with unescape(encodeURIComponent(text))

But nothing works.
