polarization #653

I am looking for codes computing electron beam polarization in alternative to the one I am using currently. Time ago Piotr Skowronski told me that it should be possible to implement polarization into madx. I don't think that it is so trivial in presence of stochastic photon emission. However I know that for instance She Duan from IHEP used a version of madx using ptc-tracking for polarization calculations. Has anyone info about that version?

Hi,

I remember the email exchange and I asked you to create a GitHub issue for that. It was not done, so the issue did not enter the queue.

We would like to know who and for what project we do service in order to prioritise the jobs. Your profile says only your nickname. Please, could you give us your name, lab, project?

What I was proposing is to use PTC, which we have inside MADX as a module, to calculate the polarisation using ptc_twiss and/or ptc_track commands.

Hi! I don’t understand, actually I did create a GitHub issue last week, however w/o a profile. Anyway, my name is Eliana Gianfelice and I am a senior scientist at Fermilab. I am making simulations for BNL eRHIC. I know that Zhe Duan, a Chinese colleague, used for CEPC a version of madx-ptc tracking containing also spin tracking for radiating particles. The important aspect of the tracking is that it must take into account the effect of stochastic photon emission on the trajectory (and thus on the spins). Thanks for the attention. Best regards, Eliana.

Hi,

OK, I will look into it within some weeks as I will soon be leaving for vacations.
