Atari 8-bit Software Preservation project lists a preserved dump of the original 1985 US release of Ballblazer in .atx format. Attempting to load this disk image in MiSTer core crashes the game very soon after the Lucasfilm Games logo, displaying a LOAD ERROR screen flickering with all colors (which is impossible to screenshot properly due to issue #15).
It appears that the game crashes when attempting to display one of the frames of the animated spinning triangular vehicle, as seen on the screenshot of the later cartridge release, not sure which frame in particular causes the crash.
I tested other releases of Ballblazer: 1987 cartridge works perfectly, 1985 UK disk works but it seems to have spinning vehicle animation removed, the commonly available "k-file" cracked .atr image works but it lacks the Lucasfilm Games screen entirely.
