Dark Seed doesn't load after change on 04 Feb, 2024 (commit 1d10005)

JP Library game Dark Seed no longer loads after the change committed to fix Discworld/Primal Rage on the 4th of February 2024. The previous core, 02/02/2024, works as expected.

I will try to narrow down the line that broke it and update the issue if I find anything.

Repro Steps: Using latest build (single or dual RAM) attempt to load Dark Seed (JP)

Result: Sega logo appears, then the game freezes on load.

Expected: The game to load into the credit crawl

Reverting SMPC.sv allows Dark Seed to boot. Narrowing down the line change.
